Dramatic...

G just called from the bathroom:
"Mommy! I'm surrounded by poo-poo!"

I'm afraid to find out what that means.

Counting for Sheep (and Mouse and Bunny)

Gabriel couldn't quite make himself stay in bed tonight. I went back in his room with him, gave him a stuffed mouse, a bunny, and an elephant and told him they needed to know how to count to 100.

I told him to hold his mouse, tell mouse how to count to 100, and then put mouse on the floor. I told him to count slowly so mouse could understand. Then he should hold bunny, tell bunny how to count to 100, and put bunny on the floor. Then elephant.

I was hoping that counting to 100 three times would lull him to sleep. But I think he took his job too seriously. He popped back out of his room in just a few minutes to report that he had finished his counting.

So I handed him several more animals and told him to count for each of them, too.

I guess it worked?

There are a bunch of animals on the floor and a sleeping boy in the bed...

Bluebonnets 2016

We made our annual trip out to get bluebonnet pictures of the boys. The intention was to get Penny in some pictures as well, but the big kids weren't all that agreeable to the outing, and we ended up cutting it a little short.

Aunt Joanah still managed to capture some great pictures, though!

Love these kids. :)

ps-G has been calling them blueberry bonnets.

At Bedtime...

<G hanging upside down off the edge of his bed>

Mom, I'm Upside Down Man.
I do upside down things to people.
And save the world by reaching my arms to pick up trash and put it in the can.
I'm a super hero.
But I don't need a cape, because Iron Man doesn't have a cape.

********

Mom, you're wasting all your time. You're not going to get any hugs because you spent all your time kissing me.

********

G: I hope that in our next house, I don't have my own bed.
Me: Who's going to be in your bed with you?
G: I'll be in your bed with you guys!
Me: <silently> No, child. No you won't.

Glasses!

Recognize this kid? So handsome!

Turns out that this little monkey is a bit far-sighted with astigmatism. So, he got some awesome blue spectacles.

One friend in his class told him he looked like a rock star. :)

Things he Says

G and Daddy were doing bedtime routine things the other night. They're doing the usual things like brushing and flossing teeth, etc. G says, "When I'm seven, I can floss by myself, and I can brush my teeth by myself, and I can have a phone."

******

On Saturday, G and I were out doing a couple things and I told him we were going to stop by HEB for a few things on the way home. He asked if we could go to big HEB (the HEB PLUS), but I told him no, because it was out of the way and I didn't want to drive over in that direction.

He told me, "You don't have the Christmas spirit."

It was February.
