Gaining Independence through Yogurt
Gabriel has started grabbing the spoon or fork from me to try feeding himself. He's not usually terribly successful when we're eating rice or peas...but this time he tried doing the yogurt by himself. A surprising amount actually made it into his mouth. But as you can see, a good deal was also on his face, arms, hands, and really just everywhere.

At least he cooperates when it's time to wash hands after dinner. |

Catching Up
I have a bunch of stuff I've been meaning to post, so I'm going to play catch-up this week.
Here are some recent photos.

Yoga, Spoons, Laughing, and Surgery
We've been trying out bathtub yoga.
We've also been trying to hold the spoon.

And we've been laughing a lot.
And tomorrow we're having surgery to put tubes in the ears. Hopefully we'll have many fewer ear infections after that!

New Things Gabriel is Doing
Gabriel is lucky enough to get hand-me-downs from his cousin Will...like this jumperoo. It's the same one he plays in at daycare, so he is a big fan.
He's also experimenting with solids now. We've tried oatmeal and sweet potatoes so far. He's mostly interested and liking them, but he is rather particular about the temperature of his food. When it gets too cool, he makes a face. A quick warming and he's back to liking it again. We have our own little Goldilocks here.
G is a little less like himself in these two pictures because he's been sick. He tested positive for RSV (bronchiolitis) and has an ear infection...so his usual smiley demeanor is a bit compromised. But I'm sure he'll be back to himself soon.
